it ok to not be ready
Please spread this shit like wildfire. People go on and sit through the whole experience and they’re uncomfortable because they just want to please their partner and they don’t tell them that they want to stop because they are not ready. It’s okay not to be ready.
There’s more than one way to wake up.
Woah the one with the knife. I would literally just forget and slice my hand off.
Lol lol lol you gotta poop at work
My alarm just says wake up - but the volume is fucking loud and the tone is my sister screaming at me to get up and making the most annoying noises before stopping and saying “get used to the park bench, buddy.”
I have three alarms, one is the default EVERYTHING IS EXPLODING iphone alarm that they use in every action movie EVER. One is ‘The Heat of The Moment’ from SPN as I like to rip out my own heart, and one is JARVIS from the first Iron Man movie XD
My alarm used to be a recording of my mom yelling at my brother to wake up- because she would check on him before coming to my room in the morning before school, and so I had learned to immediately wake up and get out of bed when I heard that so it would look like I was already awake.
For a long time I did the thing my psych teach taught me freshmen year of college- which was just NEVER snooze as it conditions your body to fall back asleep and ignore the alarm. Pick a new alarm sound and simply do not allow yourself to snooze. You can condition yourself to always wake when you hear that tone.
02/20/14: ok let’s do this
Sad to say it’s looking like I might not have TJ & Amal Volume 3 at TCAF after all.
The past two months in RL have been a nonstop parade of crises; no time to breathe or grieve or recuperate. I’ve been operating between 0% and 5% battery power, and efforts to churn out art at my normal pace have resulted in soulless, subpar work. I’m about 3 weeks behind the schedule I set right before everything went haywire.
After talking with Brett and my father, I realized it’s more important to finish the comic at the top of my game rather than rush it just to meet deadline.
I’ll still have Kung Fu Hustlers, TJ & Amal Volume 1, TJ & Amal Volume 2, and Whisper Grass at both ECCC and TCAF, and I’ll be taking commissions and signing books at both conventions.
